Red Storm suffer cutbacks

Ubisoft have given notice to 38 people working at North Carolina based Ubisoft Red Storm (formerly Red Storm Entertainment), who most recently worked on Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 and America's Army: True Soldiers, and currently are involved with the multiplayer component of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. According to statements the development of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will not be affected. The people given notice in North Carolina are apparently being offered other positions within Ubisoft's vast development empire.

Red Storm Entertainment were founded in 1996 by Tom Clancy and Doug Littlejohns, and the studio has mainly been working on the Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six franchises.

Ubisoft gave Kotaku the following statement:

"Red Storm remains an integral part of Ubisoft's worldwide production team and will continue to work on the multiplayer component of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier."
