Next week marks the return to play for competitive Counter-Strike: Global Offensive following the mid-season break. The event that will sound the return is the ESL Pro Tour Season 14, but unfortunately it won't be a return for all teams, as Renegades has announced that it will not be participating in the event due to Covid-19 travel restrictions in Australia making attendance impossible.

Revealed over Twitter, the announcement states, "We tried everything we could but unfortunately the global pandemic created an impossible travel situation for us in Australia."

There has been no word as to whether ESL has a team in mind to replace Renegades, or whether the slot will remain empty.

This comes off the back of the Pittsburgh Knights dropping out of the Rainbow Six: Siege Mexico Major, also due to Covid-19 travel restrictions imposed in Australia.
