It'd be quite the understatement to say that a few rumours have swirled around a possible new Devil May Cry game, and the speculation has been ongoing for quite some time now. It would seem as though we're inching ever closer to an official announcement, however, and that's backed up by a new report that says that we'll see the game at E3 and that it's exclusive to PlayStation 4.

A lengthy report has been released over on Resetera based on information from an alleged insider which says quite a few interesting things about the game.

Notably, Devil May Cry 5 (stylised as Devil May Cry V) has been in development for over two years with a team spearheaded by Hideaki Itsuno. The team previously worked on both DmC and Dragon's Dogma.

Apparently, the game was first supposed to release in November of this year, but it's a possibility that it may have been pushed back into Q1 next year. The story will allegedly pick up straight after the events of Devil May Cry 4.

The next numbered entry in the series is also said to be timed-exclusive to PlayStation 4, with a PC release following at some point after the initial launch.

And remember folks, as always, sprinkle your rumours with a touch of salt, and we'll find out more soon enough. Stay tuned.
