Return to Croft Manor in new Tomb Raider DLC The Nightmare

Shadow of the Tomb Raider has already been given DLC in the form of The Forge and The Pillar, but now Eidos Montreal and Square Enix have something a bit more spooky up their sleeves. The Nightmare is the name of a new DLC drop for the game, coming at no additional cost for Season Pass owners and taking us back to England, and more specifically Croft Manor.

The press release prepares us to "explore Croft Manor in a harrowing trial unlike anything Lara has experienced before". This time she will face "familiar enemies and fallen friends" and also her worst and most "deadliest enemy of all: herself," a theme that we saw in the base game too.

The famous adventurer will be looking for a mysterious and powerful weapon with the help of new gear, including a fresh fighting axe called The Grip of Fear no less. The Scales of Q is a new outfit that protects against melee attacks as well.

This new expansion will land on January 22 and reminds us an awful lot of the Blood Ties DLC for Rise of the Tomb Raider, which also throws us back to Croft Manor for some sinister exploration.
