We had known for a while that China would once again play host to the 2021 League of Legends World Championship, but the host cities still eluded us. Now however, Riot Games has announced the cities that will be holding competitions for the major tournament later this year.

The multi-city tour will see competition heading to Shanghai, Qingdao, Wuhan, Chengdu, and Shenzhen across the various stages of the tournament. As for which city will be hosting each stage of the Worlds tournament, that information will be revealed at a later date. The finals however, will be held in Shenzen on November 6.

"We've locked in the five Chinese cities after an extremely competitive bidding process, and we're now ready to deliver on our promise to players with a multi-city tour for the biggest esports event on the planet," said John Needham, Global Head of Esports at Riot Games.

Riot hasn't yet confirmed whether these host cities and their respective stages of competition will be able to welcome fans to watch the matches in-person.
