League of Legends developer Riot Games has revealed a lot of new details regarding the 2018 World Championship (or Worlds) which we already knew were coming to South Korea, except now we know the structure, dates, and venues.

The play-in stage, for example, will take place in Seoul and see 12 teams compete for four group stage spots, taking place from October 1 to 4 and October 6 to 7. After that there's the group stage in Busan from October 10 to 17, with the quarter-finals also taking place in the same city from October 20 to 21.

We then head into Gwangju for the semi-finals on October 27 to 28, and the finals will be hosted by Incheon on November 3, with ticket information being revealed at a later date, alongside specific venues.

Also, regarding the length, Riot wrote: "We're looking to reduce the amount of time pro players and their team staff have to be on the road (particularly when it comes to downtime), as Worlds can represent a commitment of up to a month or longer spent in a foreign country."

"What this change specifically means is: Group Stage games will now take place over the course of 8 consecutive days (rather than over 2 weeks with a break in between), and Quarterfinal games will take place over 2 days, rather than 4. Aside from the changes to Quarterfinals, the total number of match days (compared to Worlds 2017) isn't being changed."

Are you hyped for the event?
