Riot just took the unprecedented step of announcing the locations of the next three League of Legends World Championships, in particular announcing that next year's grand finale will take place in Europe again for the first time in years.
It's quite the turnaround for a company that has been criticised for dragging its heels when making these kinds of announcements (we only discovered the location of this year's Worlds in the summer, for example), with Riot looking to make a greater commitment to the longterm future of League by allowing pro players and teams more time to plan ahead.
Most notably, next year's final will take place in Paris (at the AccorHotels Arena), with the Worlds heading to Europe for the first time in what at that point will be four years. In 2020 the event will shift back to China (it's also worth noting that 2020 will be a landmark 10th World Championships), and then in 2021 Riot will take its flagship event to North America once again.
