A new patch by the name of Rival Wings has been added to Final Fantasy XIV, and in this update is a game mode that pits teams of up to 24 players against each other in a PvP arena assisted by AI goblin Automatons, much like a MOBA.

The point of the game is to destroy towers and a shield generator before going for the opponent's core. The game also lets you pilot different types of giant mechs that are scattered around the arena, if you've managed to gather up enough Ceruleum that is.

This game mode is also available to players using the free trial, and in addition to Rival Wings the patch offers a new Bard action called 'Perform', which enables Bards across Hydaelyn to make the hills come alive with the sound of music.

If that isn't enough to whet your appetite patch 4.15 marks the start of Season 6 of The Feast, which will run until the release of Patch 4.2. Adventurers are invited to enter the arena and climb through the ranks in order to earn fierce new armour and weapons of war.

Patch 4.15 is available now, but are you going to try it out?
