Romance of the Three Kingdoms 13 is heading to Steam

The English version of the game is releasing in July.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms 13 will be the first title in the series to come to the West in eight years (that's discounting the Japanese version of the same game which is currently available on Steam for an eye-watering £67.99 / €82.99).

The historically-themed strategy title will feature the standard campaign mode, which allows players to customise game settings such as the starting year and the game board. Romance of the Three Kingdoms will also feature a Hero mode. This acts as an in-depth tutorial, closely following historical events from China's past as well as teaching mechanics.

The storyline allows players to follow and influence the events leading up to the unification of 2nd century China. Players can choose from 700 historical characters, create their own character, or use some of the fan favourites such as Zhao Yun, Liu Bei and Cao Cao (to name a few).

Romance of the Three Kingdoms 13 will launch on July 5 for PC via Steam and on PlayStation 4.
