Following a few weeks of competition, the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational has officially come to a close. Seeing the best teams from around the world heading to Busan, South Korea to fight over a $250,000 prize pool, the grand finals yesterday saw the Chinese team Royal Never Give Up facing off against the South Korean T1.
The series itself ended up being a very competitive one, and saw a fifth match forced. It was here that RNG secured their victory and the tournament by defeating T1 at the very final hurdle of the entire event.
The victory has seen RNG heading home with $75,000, with T1 taking $50,000 as well. As for where the Western teams managed to place, the LCS' (North America) Evil Geniuses and the LEC's (Europe) G2 Esports came in joint third, after both fell in the semi-finals over the weekend.
As for what's next for competitive League of Legends, the Summer Seasons are set to start in a couple of weeks.
