After a few weeks of competition, the 2021 Mid-Season Invitational for League of Legends that was happening in Reykjavik, Iceland concluded yesterday afternoon. The tournament that pitted the best teams from each region around the globe featured a $250,000 prize pool, and saw a final between Damwon Gaming and Royal Never Give Up, the LPL (China) and LCK's (South Korea) representatives for the tournament.
The final itself saw the two teams slog it out with one another until Royal Never Gave Up managed to squeeze in the victory with a 3-2 result, netting $75,000 worth of the prize pool. Royal Never Give Up's Chen "GALA" Wei also took home the tournament's MVP award after his performance across the event.
Teams will now be returning back to their respective regions to compete in the Summer Split that starts on June 11 for the LEC (Europe), as we begin to gear up for Worlds 2021, which will be the next major international tournament.
