Red Dead Redemption 2 is fairly close to release, and the most recent gameplay reveal was captured on a PlayStation 4 Pro, leading fans to speculate exactly what resolution owners of the console can expect come launch.

Well, according to a new report we seem to have an answer to that question. Digital Foundry have deconstructed the gameplay reveal trailer, and published a thorough report on the game's technical specifications on the platform.

Apparently, the game will render natively at 1920x2160. It's not quite 4K, but as mentioned it's still a 12.5 percent increase compared to 1440p in overall pixel count.

It's also generally believed that the game will run at 30fps across Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. The question is - will the Xbox One X run it in native 4K?
