A few months ago Nvidia revealed something surprising for the upcoming Chinese launch of the Nvidia Shield, as it was stealthily announced that the unit would come with some Nintendo software, such as The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. This is just one of several Wii and GameCube titles available for the platform, prompting many to ask whether this was a first step in providing other platforms with its own software.

However, it seems that it might actually be the stepping stone towards a GameCube emulator, as it's been reported by a variety of users on social media, one being Marvin on Twitter, that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is actually emulated on Nvidia Shield.

"BREAKING DEVELOPMENT: Through looking at executable strings it was discovered that TP on the Chinese Shield is actually emulated after all. So Nintendo has a working GC emulator available for the Switch that performs very well," the tweet reads.

According to that same user, the game is emulated quite well, holding a steady 30 FPS and with quick load times. Now we're just waiting for it to come to Switch. Is this one of your favourite Zelda games?
