Schalke 04 Esports has announced that it'll be continuing to pursue success in esports with Hans Christian Dürr and Mitch 'Krepo' Voorspoels, Dürr taking the role of Head of Esports while Krepo moves in as the head coach for the League of Legends team, hoping to do their best in the European League of Legends Championship Series.

The esports division will apparently be positioned more broadly, and Moritz Beckers-Schwarz, Managing Director of the FC Schalke 04 Arena Management, said this about the changes: "Hans Christian Dürr was our desired candidate for the job and will be an important part for the development within our esports division. He also will be responsible for the integration of further titles. Tim Reichert will manage the division superiorly as Chief Gaming Officer and will be dealing with the strategic approach."

Hans Christian Dürr added: "The Schalke management and I are aligned on common goals going into the 2018 Season: We are working on the very foundation on how we are going to lead our teams to success, emphasising the importance of a professionally structured training environment and infrastructure for our professional players and staff, as well as creating a value-oriented culture within FC Schalke 04 Esports. We believe in Europe and will continue to support ongoing efforts to further professionalise esports especially in Germany. Beyond that, we are going to focus on fan initiatives, making sure to create the best experience possible for those who follow and support us."

Do these changes make sense for Schalke 04?
