Last month there was a rumour floating around that Schalke 04 were going to sell their spot in the Challenger Series following an unsuccessful attempt to be promoted into the LCS, but in a press conference Schalke executive Moritz Beckers-Schwarz announced that this is far from the case.

"We want to chance it again, and go from the Challenger Series to LCS. We're still dedicated to the idea that we can, ultimately, win the LCS and go to Worlds," he said (via Dot Esports).

Part of this process moving forward is new acquisition Lennart "Smittyj" Warkus, although the rest of the team hasn't been decided, and head of esports Tim Reichert said that more changes could be made. "We know we have to be even better next season," he explained. "Final decisions on the roster will be made in the next couple of weeks, but ultimately, changes will probably be inevitable."

Did you expect Schalke to sell their spot, or did you have faith they'd try again?
