Serbian developer Ebb Software's upcoming first-person horror experience, Scorn, is set for a release on PC in 2017.

Described as "an uncomfortable creep through an oozing world of organic otherworldly horror", the game can be supported as of right now through Steam Greenlight.

The game involves combining shooting and puzzle solving in a world where the surroundings and its inhabitants are doing everything to stop you. "That's not to say every inhabitant you meet wants to eviscerate you - many don't care about you one way or the other, but catch them in a bad mood and they'll try to tear you apart."

Scorn has no cut-scenes, however, in an attempt to immerse the player in the "grisly reality of the living, breathing (throbbing, dripping) world you're in," not showing any mercy if players miss important items.

Ljubomir Peklar of Ebb Software said "we are trying to create something so unsettling it will make you think about the ideas and themes of the game long after you've finished playing." This is done through the storytelling being based in the gameplay, a non-linear narrative and large scale puzzles.

Scorn will be released in two parts, the first of which will be called "Dasein" and will arrive in 2017. More information on the game can be found on Scorn's official site.

Scorn

REVIEW. Written by Claus Larsen

Repulsive, confusing, and nauseatingly brown, Scorn is nonetheless a well-realised and atmospheric horror adventure.
