Rare's swashbuckling adventure Sea of Thieves is currently in closed beta for selected players to try the game out, but Rare's Emma 'Buccaneer' Bridle has taken to the game's website to address a few problems that players have been experiencing in the game, including the fact that some are simply unable to get into the beta.

Bridle writes that the Community and Customer Support teams are working to keep players updated with what's happening regarding closed beta access, and that what's being said is also being taken as feedback for the team.

What's more is that some players who pre-ordered the game digitally are encountering a message saying "too early", and so Rare are working with Xbox to make sure this can get resolved. The fix has started to roll out, but it's taking longer than they first thought to reach everyone, and Bridle directs affected players to a specific article that deals with this issue.

As a response to these issues Rare has extended the closed beta by two days, so it will now end at 08:00 GMT on January 31, with the Design an Achievement contest closing date also being extended to the same date.

Have you run into any of these issues?

REVIEW. Written by Kieran Harris

"It may not be all smooth sailing, but Rare's Sea of Thieves manages to deliver a cooperative experience like nothing we've ever experienced before."
