Late last year Atlus announced Shin Megami Tensei V exclusively for Nintendo Switch, and now we know that this title has, according to an interview appearing in Japanese gaming magazine 4Gamer (and via PersonaCentral), entered into full-scale development.
Series Producer Kazuyuki Yamai explained that the core team has been brought together (we're imagining some kind of epic montage whereby each dev drops what they were doing to answer the call) and will continue to get support from incoming devs as the process accelerates.
"At the start, the production of this project only had a few people at its core, with more and more people gradually becoming involved," the series' producer explained. "Although this number is still increasing, I feel that the production staff has come together considerably to a point—and reaching a milestone—where we can say we've started full-scale development."
As Yamai mentions during the interview, the team will put more work into the game's famous demons, something they hope means that the game will live up to fans' expectations. Shin Megami Tensei V was announced last October during a Nintendo Direct, and it's going to be a Switch exclusive.
