Activision and Sierra Games have today confirmed that they're going to be returning to the fray with a couple of familiar IPs, one synonymous with the label, the other less so.

First up is the news that King's Quest is making a return, with The Odd Gentlemen (The Misadventures of PB Winterbottom) handling development duties, while Lucid Games will be handling development of Geometry Wars 3. King's Quest is said to be coming in 2015, while the third Geometry Wars title should be landing at the end of this year.

In an interview with GamesIndustry, Activision/Sierra's Bob Loya, said this when asked if the label would be focusing more on old IPs (like King's Quest), or new ones: "Both, we are really focused on working with talented indies on great IP, regardless of whether the IP comes from Sierra or elsewhere. The key for us is to match the right indie developers with an IP they are passionate about."

King's Quest is certainly a good start for the label, and even if it was a bit unexpected, Geometry Wars 3 well be warmly received. But, would you prefer that Sierra focused on the older IPs? Or do you think it a good move to look forward as well as back?
