Smash Bros. is the most pre-ordered Switch title

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate isn't even out yet and already it's breaking records, both in terms of the console and the series itself, which is unsurprising considering the weight of the franchise and the expectation that's being laid on this new entry.

Nintendo revealed on Twitter that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is actually the most pre-ordered game in the history of the platform and the entire series:

"Super #SmashBrosUltimate is punching its way into the record books! Thank you to all the amazing fans for your support in making this a fight for the ages! Be sure to have your #NintendoSwitch ready to experience the action when the game launches on 12/7."
