While it still might prove to a be financial hit, the PlayStation Classic has received a lot of negative press, and this started even before its release, with preview attendees noticing the poor quality of the emulation on display.

This wasn't fixed at launch, and reviews have reflected it since then. Now it seems that the SNES Classic - a concept which no doubt inspired Sony to produce this console - may actually be better at emulating classic PlayStation titles.

YouTuber 8 Bit Flashback has put together a video comparing the original Ridge Racer running on the SNES Classic compared to the PlayStation Classic, and the results are pretty stark. Even judging by technical specifications alone, the PlayStation Classic should provide players with the better experience, but the emulated software running on the SNES Classic is simply more responsive.

Ultimately, the verdict from 8 Bit Flashback is that the PlayStation Classic struggles to play its own games.
