Days Gone will be released as a PlayStation 4 exclusive on April 26, and if you're someone who loves a good screenshot for Instagram or just likes a good Photo Mode in general, you'll be pleased to hear a new PlayStation Blog post has detailed what we can expect from the Photo Mode in this game.

"Our aim with Photo Mode was to make players feel like they're manipulating a real camera in the real world," the post reads.

As we've seen in other games you can toggle character and bike visibility, and adjust facial expressions to match the mood. There are frames and presets too, featuring nine custom frames, several shapes and sizes of black frames, logo options, and 18 preset filters. The lens panel also lets players tweak field of view, focal distance, film grain, and aperture as well, not to mention focus lock which lets users select a permanent focus point as the camera moves.

If all of this still doesn't quite cut it for you, there's the Advanced Mode as well, letting you edit your shots with 55 settings like bloom, colour grading, and colour depth. Hollywood veterans helped the art team create these features, designed to "capture all the power and flexibility that comes with professional photo editing software." Players can use a preset as a starting point to learn how to use this mode, and then create their own filter to save as one of five preset options.

You can see three examples of the Photo Mode down below, featuring protagonist Deacon:

Days Gone joins the long list of games featuring Photo Modes to show off their visuals, as we've seen this in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Fallout 76, God of War, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and more. It just goes to show how visually advanced games are these days, and we're sure there'll be plenty to take pictures of in Days Gone.

That's not to say it's a walk in the park though, as we found out from Bend Studio that it's a very hostile world that they want players to feel. For more on the game in general, make sure to check our latest hands-on text from earlier this month.

Will you be taking lots of photos?
