We caught up with Gateway Interactive's Louis Deane in the ID@Xbox portion of the Microsoft stand at E3 to learn more about the addictive nature of musical tripper Spectra.
"We met an artist called Chipzel, who's real name Niamh Houston. She's an 8-bit artist and she made all the music for Super Hexagon. And she'd just realised an album with really cool music and I went up to her and said 'have you got a game to go with all this?'. Cause it was really awesome sounding, I'd love to build something to it. She said 'no I haven't' so we said 'oh, can we build it for you?' and that's kind of how the game started."
Deane went on to talk about the possibility of motion controls, the precision of the new Xbox One controller, and the fact that the game is rendered in 8K resolution on Xbox One and then shrunk back down.
