Gamereactor is not only about gaming, but also the movie world surrounding it. Especially when it comes to big screen adaptions of franchises we know and love.

Sony Pictures have owned the rights to make movies based on Spider-Man for a long time, and so Spider-Man has not been part of many movies like Avengers and Captain America.

This is about to change, and so Spidey will finally be able to take part in Disney's ongoing Marvel Movies. Under the new deal, the new Spider-Man will finally appear in a Marvel film from Marvel's Cinematic Universe. Followed by a new Spider-Man movie in 2017.

Bob Iger, Chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company comments:

"Spider-Man is one of Marvel's great characters, beloved around the world. We're thrilled to work with Sony Pictures to bring the iconic web-slinger into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which opens up fantastic new opportunities for storytelling and franchise building."

Rumors has it that Spider-Man might make an appearance in Captain America: Civil War.

Marvel's Kevin Feige is set to produce the next installment of the Spider-Man franchise with Amy Pascal. As long as Andrew Garfield is going to reprise his role, we are quite happy though. Tobey just never felt right.
