We already know quite a bit about Splatoon 2, and that's why it was kind of considered to be one of the main games at the Nintendo Direct showcase last night, because we wanted to know even more about it. We weren't disappointed either.
We now know a release date for the game, most importantly, which is July 21 this year, and alongside this release Nintendo will offer a new set of Splatoon amiibos, and a pack of three will be available with a new version of the boy, girl, and squid. If you have the old amiibos, though, you can still use them with this sequel.
Salmon Run was also announced for the game, a new wave-based mode where players take on waves of enemies in teams of four, kind of like a Horde mode.
Is Splatoon 2 one of the Switch's standout games this year?
