Splatoon is getting massive new update on August 6

Introduces game modes, gear and weapons.

Nintendo has announced on the Japanese Twitter account for Splatoon that the Wii U-exclusive will receive a major update on August 6. There is little information about the content, but the developer has confirmed the introduction of two new game modes (Tag Match and Private Match), weapons and other equipment.

It was also confirmed that between the 3rd and 5th of August, Nintendo will be suspending the Urchin Underpass map so that they can work on some specific improvements to the arena. More information regarding the update will be unveiled in the coming days.
