Splyce beat Lumonisity to take home the lion's share of the Global Pro League Stage 1 $700,000 prize pool this week, with the European team winning in North America for the first time.

It was on for Splyce after the top seeds all crashed into the loser bracket after the first day of play, with the final rankings as follows:

· 1st - Splyce
· 2nd - Luminosity
· 3rd - FaZe Clan
· 4th - OpTic Gaming
· 5th/6th - eUnited
· 5th/6th - Enigma6
· 7th/8th - Evil Geniuses
· 7th/8th - Team EnVyUs

The best twelve teams from Stage 1 automatically bagged a place in Stage 2, which is set to kick off on June 30. Before then, however, there's the small matter of the CWL Anaheim Open (June 16-18). The teams that finished Stage 1 last in their respective groups have a chance to get back in the game via a relegation tournament, where they'll face off against the teams with the most CWL Pro Points that are not already involved (with one team from APAC and another from Europe joining two North American teams). The top four teams will then earn a place in Stage 2 of the Global Pro League.

Finally, with the 2017 CWL Championships in Orlando, Florida, drawing ever closer (the event is scheduled to take place between August 9-13) there'll be Last Chance Qualifiers offering a chance of redemption, with the European event taking place in July at the Gfinity Arena in London (more details here).
