Square Enix announced a new game called Left Alive at this year's Sony press conference during Tokyo Game Show. The game is described as a "survival action shooter" and appears to be set in a postapocalyptic scenario. The game is being directed by longtime Armored Core director Toshifumi Nabeshima, with Yoji Shinkawa (character designer on the Metal Gear Solid series) and Takayuki Yanase (mech designer, Ghost in the Shell: Arise, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Xenoblade Chronicles X) helping him to create the world.

Serving as producer is Shinji Hashimoto who is credited as co-creator on Kingdom Hearts and has worked for a long time on the Final Fantasy series as well as franchises like Front Mission.
