Square Enix announces Project Octopath Traveler

Square Enix has announced that they have a new RPG in development, and this game has the working title of Project Octopath Traveler, not to mention a little reveal trailer that comes with the announcement.

Square Enix producer Tomoya Asana talked a bit more about the project on Facebook, saying: "It's my pleasure to finally announce our newest project, the fully original role-playing game Octopath Traveler! While we can't reveal any specific details quite yet (keep an eye out for promotional media in the near future), we'd like to share with you a behind-the-scenes look at the development process in the meantime. A long road lies ahead of us, but we hope that you'll come along for the journey!"

He also posts the disclaimer that all the content shown is "under development and subject to change," which we assume includes the trailer and assets posted below. From what we can see, though, it seems to be a game that merges 2D characters with 3D environments, and it's pretty intriguing.
