Star Wars: Episodes 7 and 8 were both filmed with traditional Super 35 mm cameras while the upcoming prequel Rogue One is shot in Alexa 6K, which has made fans wonder what Jurassic World Director Colin Trevorrow will do in terms of cameras for Episode 9.
Trevorrow recently told the media at the Sundance Film Festival that he will shoot the movie entirely in 65 mm. This was made popular mostly by Chris Nolan with The Dark Knight and Inception and then made mainstream among Hollywood-filmmakers thanks to Quentin Tarantino and last year's epic thriller The Hateful Eight. Expect Episode 9, then, to be ultrawide in ratio while housing superb image quality. What do you think of the decision?
