During Star Wars Celebration which was held in London this past weekend and at the show Star Wars Episode VIII director Rian Johnson confirmed that the upcoming continuation will pick up right where The Force Awakens left off. For those of you who still haven't seen J.J. Abrams seventh episode of the Star Wars saga we recommend that you stop reading, naturally.
The Force Awakens ended with Rey finding the long lost Luke Skywalker on a desolate planet and offering him his old lightsaber, whereas he gave her a profoundly troubled look. Anyone who would like to see how that encounter developed will be glad to know that the new, yet to be fully titled movie, will pick up right where the last one left off.
This will be the first time a Star Wars movie does this, as they've typically left significant periods of time up to the imagination in between episodes.
