At Gamescom 2016 we talked with Image & Form's Brjann Sigurgeirsson about the upcoming physical release of the Steamworld Collection.

"They're doing a Wii U release of the Steamworld Collection, which is Steamworld Dig and Steamworld Heist in one physical package", he said. "They've never done any game that is not a Nintendo game before" and so he was surprised when he got the news so much so that he didn't believe it at first. "They're starting with Steamworld Collection and hopefully they're going to do more third party titles down the line."

"We just made sure that it's coming out worldwide for Wii U and in the process, since we were making the product anyway, we decided to do a physical launch of a PlayStation 4 version of the Collection as well. So Steamworld Dig and Steamworld Heist [are] coming at a fantastic price
to customers of physical games".

We also asked about what fans can expect regarding DLC. "We realised that this game lends itself well to DLC so the first few months we just dedicated ourselves to making strong DLC for Steamworld Heist and that is actually included in the physical product". He continued "we have other ideas for DLC", saying no more about it except that it is coming soon and will be both paid and free.

Who knows what could be around the corner for Image & Form as Steamworld Quest may be their next game

Steamworld Heist is out on 3DS, Linux, Mac and PC, PS4 and PS Vita and will come to Wii U at the end of September as a physical release. Xbox One and iOS will follow later. With regards to the NX, Sigurgeirsson said "at some point we will develop for that platform" but didn't give any solid details.
