Stonehearth development continues, Rising Thunder canned

Riot Games acquires Californian studio Radiant Entertainment with development shifts as a result.

Californian studio Radiant Entertainment has today announced that it's now part of the Riot Games organisation (creators of the immensely popular eSports-focused MOBA League of Legends).

Radiant had two games in development up until now, Stonehearth and Rising Thunder. The latter, a 1v1 robot-based fighting game, has been cancelled following this move, and the alpha version will shut down next week as "the team will start work on a new game that we're incredibly excited about", as the first project after joining forces with Riot Games.

Regarding Stonehearth, the game gets the opposite treatment, as it "will go on, full speed ahead. We'll continue delivering Alphas at our current pace, with the aim of delivering the final game when it's ready".

Apart from the obvious similarities when it comes to the name Stonehearth has nothing to do with the CCG hit Hearthstone from Blizzard, and it's more akin to creative builders such as Minecraft, as shown by the following trailer:
