Today marks the release of the fourth DLC pack for Fatshark's co-op action romp Vermintide on Steam (no word on when and if it is coming to console just yet). Stromdorf, may be the easiest to pronounce DLC for Vermintide to date, but we still found it hard to get it right in this interview with Fatshark's Joakim Setterberg.
"We like our weird Warhammer location names. From Schlusselschloss to Drachenfels to Karak Azgaraz, Stromdorf is right up that alley", says Setterberg. "It's definitely a play on words. Basically, a location based of a Warhammer fantasy role-play adventure called The Gathering Storm, which is set in Stromdorf."
The interview also touched upon the two new maps, as well as the new weapon for the Empire Soldier Markus Kruber, the Executioner's Sword, a reaction to the character being "underplayed".
Stromdorf is a smaller piece of DLC than previous packs, and it seems that Fatshark plans to continue delivering smaller packs, perhaps more often moving forward.
"We definitely have more work on Vermintide, so we are continuously working on DLCs and additional content releases. We'll just see how Stromdorf... How players will react to it. We're doing a more slimmed version of DLC now, so two maps compared to three in previous DLCs. But we're going to try to see if we can make the development to release cycle shorter in this regard."
