Superhot VR is nothing new in and of itself, but the Superhot team has revealed that the game is now available for the Oculus Quest, taking advantage of the Quest's lack of wiring to produce a smooth experience in the virtual space.

"Thanks to the Quest's free roam wireless capabilities, Superhot VR has been rebuilt into what it was originally meant to be. Nothing distracts the player from the rush of Superhot's signature slow-motion combat. Players move relentlessly from fight to fight, flowing through the action like a ballerina of death. 360 tracking revolves the world around you, letting players move, run, and slice through a hail of slow-motion bullets. No tethers are holding you back," the team writes.

This is the full experience without compromise, and new game flow streamlines transitions between levels. A guest mode is also available as well, meaning you can show your friends the game in an easy way.

"The superb reception of Superhot VR on Quest at OC5 was great to see and encouraging for the team. We wanted to deliver a fantastic experience and it took a year of work to make it happen. It was a huge technical undertaking to bring Superhot VR to Quest, but we're confident Oculus Quest players are in for the best VR experience to date. The team are incredibly proud," adds Tom Kaczmarczyk, co-founder and director at Superhot.

A new blog post goes into detail about how the team rebuilt the game for the Quest headset, but if you'd rather see it in action then check out the launch trailer below.

Is this the perfect fit for Quest?

REVIEW. Written by Mike Holmes

"If you can look past the slightly underwhelming narrative layer, you're left with an intense puzzle-shooter hybrid that encourages flair and audacity."
