Japanese developer Swery 65 (aka, Hidetaka Suehiro) (Deadly Premonition) has put his upcoming mystery game The Good Life on Kickstarter, after it failed to raise the targeted funding on crowdfunding platform Fig last year. The Good Life launched on Fig in September, where it was looking for $1.5 million USD and reached 45 percent of its goal.

Swery says the team has "learned a great deal" from the last attempt and made several changes to "to ensure success", including different rewards, more gameplay footage, and an enhanced visual style.

On Kickstarter the game looking for $647,910 with an estimated release in November 2019. The game will be released on Steam for $29 and $39 on PlayStation 4, and includes online multiplayer.

The Good Life is a life simulator set in the "happiest town in the world", where players play as Naomi, a journalist from New York who has moved to the small British town of Rainy Woods in order to pay off her debt. In Rainy Woods Naomi not only finds the body of a murdered young woman, but also learns that everyone transforms into a cat or a dog at night once a month.

The campaign is off to a decent start having achieved about 23 percent of its target already and runs until May 4.
