It's no secret the Switch has been doing pretty well as a console, bolstered by big releases like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey last year, and according to Gematsu the console has surpassed the Wii as the fastest-selling home video game system in US history, selling more than 4.8 million units in the United States alone in the 10 months since its release.

The Wii previously held the record with around four million units sold in the same time frame, and in comparison the PS4 sold 3.95 million units in the first 10 months, so the hybrid console is doing very well against its competitors, it would seem.

"Fans across the country have experienced the joy of playing their favorite games at home or on the go," Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime said. "Now that many more people have received Nintendo Switch systems for the holidays, we look forward to bringing them fun new surprises in 2018 and beyond."

Switch owners have a lot to look forward to in 2018 as well, including Kirby: Star Allies, Bayonetta, Bayonetta 2, and maybe even Bayonetta 3 if the rumours are to be believed, in addition to the "continued support from major publishers such as EA, Activision, Ubisoft, Capcom, Sega, Take 2, and Bethesda, plus a growing catalog of quality content from indie developers."

Now this sounds quite intriguing, doesn't it? What do you hope to see from the Switch this coming year?
