The Nintendo Switch has been a big hit, as we're sure you're aware, and while this is obviously good news for Nintendo, it's also good news for the companies supplying the building blocks for the console, one of which is Nvidia, who delivers the Tegra X1 chip to keep Nintendo and its fans happy.

According to a report on The Motley Fool, it's actually equated to a lot of revenue, and here's what they had to say on the matter:

"NVIDIA says that its Tegra processor business generated $1.53 billion in revenue during the company's fiscal year 2018. NVIDIA's Tegra processors are primarily sold into the Nintendo Switch and into the company's automotive segment."

"So, if we subtract NVIDIA's automotive revenue of $558 million from the $1.53 billion in total Tegra processor revenue, we get non-automotive Tegra processor revenue - in other words, Nintendo Switch processor revenue - of around $972 million."

This means that the Switch contributed 18% of Nvidia's gaming revenue, so it's good business to deliver parts to a console that's highly successful, and if you're wondering what else you can enjoy on the Switch in the future, why not check out our interview on the Switch version of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus below?
