In an interview with MCV, Take-Two's CEO Strauss Zelnick announced that the company has licensed some of its properties for film production. This means films based on the publisher's IP could be in the works.

Film adaptations of video game series are becoming increasingly common, with the likes of Angry Birds and Ratchet & Clank appearing on the big screen in 2016, as well as Ubisoft's recently released Assassin's Creed film however, films based on games have almost always been hit and miss, as Zelnick pointed out, calling their success "spotty at best." For that reason, Take-Two won't be investing its own money in film and TV production. Licensing deals will be instead the way forward for the publisher.

Zelnick didn't reveal which franchises might see a film adaptation, stating: "We have licensed a couple of titles for motion picture production and we don't have much more to say about that yet." But which ones would suit the big screen best?
