The DreamHack Masters competition in Dallas has just come to a close, and it was North American side Team Liquid who claimed victory on home soil by defeating Finnish side Ence in the grand final of the event.
Team Liquid had a strong start to the competition in Group A, defeating Lucid Dream, North, and FaZe Clan in the early matches. Ence also did the same, winning their battles against Isurus Gaming, G2 Esports, and Furia Esports.
In the playoffs Liquid faced Furia themselves for a spot in the final, and defeated them 2-0, the same margin by which Ence defeated FaZe Clan to get there too. In the grand final though Liquid claimed the first map 16-8 on Mirage, before Ence claimed a hard-fought overtime win on Overpass, that ended 19-17. Liquid then won 16-13 on Inferno to seal the deal though.
Did you expect this from Liquid?
