It wasn't only the European League of Legends Championship Series that came to a close this past weekend, but the North American competition also crowned a winner, which most fans won't be surprised to hear was Team Liquid, who had been an impressive force throughout the Summer Split.
Team Liquid and Cloud9 finished as the top two teams in the regular season, with Liquid on one more win and one less loss than Cloud9, and they met once again in the grand final of the playoffs to fight for glory.
Cloud9 had a close fight on their hands against Team SoloMid in the semi-final, with the latter even leading 2-1 at one point, and Liquid had to bounce back from their own deficit of 1-0 against 100 Thieves to book their place in the final. When it came to this last match though, it wasn't a close affair, as Liquid dominated 3-0 to lift the trophy and get their place at the world championships.
Are Liquid deserving winners?
