Team Vitality are the Intel Extreme Masters - Winter champions

The French esports organisation defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas to take the win.

Team Vitality has been crowned as the Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Winter victors, after defeating Ninjas in Pyjamas to take home the top spot. The win has seen Vitality rewarded with $100,000 in prize money, and has secured the French esports organisation a spot at IEM: Katowice 2022.

Even though only Vitality won IEM - Winter, this result has revealed the first eight teams that will be definitely be making an appearance at Katowice, with the group stage now including Vitality, G2 Esports, Natus Vincere, Team Liquid, Virtus Pro, Gambit Esports, Heroic, and Furia.

As for what's next for Vitality, the French organisation will be competing at the BLAST Premier: World Final 2021, where it will be fighting for a share of a $1 million prize pool. While Vitality won't be playing until tomorrow, the first match of the event is set to kick off at 15:30 GMT / 16:30 CET today, when Natus Vincere faces Team Liquid.
