Ubisoft has finally shown off the The Division's next expansion, called Survival, which forces players to endure and survive some very hostile environments as a blizzard hits New York. Check out how it looks in the frosty trailer below. It certainly doesn't look very forgiving, that's for sure, and from what we can see in the trailer it seems like visibility will be significantly reduced as the snow storm whirls around you, which could make for interesting gameplay options.

The description under the trailer reads: "In DLC Expansion II: Survival, SHD agents have run out of supplies in the middle of a harsh Manhattan winter and will have to survive as long as possible in a very hostile environment. Vulnerable, stripped of all gear, wounded and freezing to death, search for the cure in these unforgiving conditions and find a way to be extracted from this chaos. Our survival depends on it."

This is the second paid expansion to hit The Division after June's Underground expansion, and was delayed after originally being slated to come out in summer, the reason for the delay being to give Ubisoft time to focus on issues in the main game. The final paid expansion called Last Stand is due to come out in 2017.

If you want to test Survival yourself, it is currently available on PC public test server. The official launch is promised to hit Xbox One and PC later this year though, with PS4 players predicted to get it about a month after them. Did you play the Underground expansion? How does this look in comparison?

"We're still early in 2016, but we've already made room for The Division in our game of the year list."
