Today during Ubisoft's E3 press conference we found out some intel regarding the first piece of paid DLC for The Division. The Underground will, as expected, take place below the streets of the ruined New York City, and will give agents a slew of new missions, items, and areas to explore.
In Underground, you and your team will be fighting against a "dangerous threat hidden beneath the streets of NYC." Every time you play, the challenge is unique, resulting in what the devs are calling endless replayability and increasingly better rewards on each mission.
There were also a few surprise announcements: firstly, three exclusive outfits are to be released into the game to celebrate Ubisoft's 30th birthday. The outfits are themed around Ghost recon, Rainbow Six, and Splinter Cell. Members of Ubisoft Club get the three outfits for free.
The next surprise announcement was the next paid expansion for the game. In Expansion II: Survival players must fight to survive in harsh weather, and struggle with meagre resources. A CGI trailer also dropped, that showed a division agent fighting the extreme cold and other people as they all struggle for survival amongst the streets of a dying New York City. A release date wasn't given for the second expansion, only a 'coming soon' message.
The Division Underground is set to release on June 28 on Xbox One and PC, and August 2 for PS4, and many more content updates will keep happening over the course of the year.
