The Fig funding campaign for The Good Life has ended in failure after the title failed to attract even half of the required investment. White Owls had been asking for $1.5million USD in crowd-sourced investment, but the game only managed pledges equalling $682K.

Frontman Hidetaka "Swery" Suehiro posted a message on Twitter, acknowledging the failings of the campaign and thanking those fans that supported the project (which enjoyed a considerable push at the end, although it was nowhere near the required total).

Swery's impassioned open letter to fans also promised that The Good Life will be back, with the plan to relaunch the game, next time on Kickstarter and with better messaging. If you pledged on Fig and are disappointed by this turn of events, rest assured that the game will be back and White Owls will once again ask for your support.
