The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been largely pirated on Wii U, as you can see by a livestream still visible at YouTube, as well as multiple images cropping up all over the web.

To get the encrypted BOTW files running, the players use a hacked Wii U and files available on the Nintendo servers (these files have reportedly since been removed), as reported via Kotaku.

Of course, as with any leak of any kind, people quickly took to the internet to share all the information they could find, such as items, characters, locations, and more. It's safe to say, then, if you want Breath of the Wild unspoiled, then be careful where you go on the internet.

Pokémon Sun and Moon also got pirated a lot back in November, but is pirating as big an issue in gaming as it is in the realm of music and film?
