League of Legends' Mid-Season Invitational - or MSI - brings players and teams from around the world to face off against one another after the spring splits (seasons) in order to see who can top the international scene, and this year it was the Chinese LPL (LoL Pro League) team Royal Never Give Up who lifted the trophy.

RNG, as they're also known, looked dominant from the start, topping the group stage after several impressive displays, while Flash Wolves and Kingzone DragonX weren't far behind. Fnatic were last to qualify for the playoffs though, and the European team were subsequently dominated by RNG in the semi-finals, losing 3-0. Kingzone DragonX also looked strong in their 3-1 semi-final win over Flash Wolves, but couldn't carry it through to the final, losing by the same margin to RNG.

Team Liquid and Evos Esports will no doubt be disappointed with their group stage exit, but Royal Never Give Up should gain a lot of confidence from this win, which they'll no doubt be hoping to carry into the World Championship later this year.

Can RNG experience more international success in the future?
