The NES Classic Mini (or NES Classic Edition) was released to great fanfare and huge demand in 2016, and even before the official launch, it was clear that Nintendo had not produced nearly enough to satisfy the consumer demand. From the launch in November and through April 2017 the product was sold out, and then Nintendo made the confusing announcement it was discontinuing the product.

Six months later in September Nintendo announced that production would begin anew and that during the summer, the NES Classic Mini would be back on store shelves. Now we know exactly when.

Nintendo has announced through Twitter, that the NES Classic will be back on the shelves on June 29th. Not only that, Nintendo is also stating that they expect both the NES and SNES Classic to be available through the end of the year, seemingly confirming that they are producing the mini consoles in much larger quantities.

Do you already own the NES Classic Mini or do you plan on picking one up this summer?
