Bugs are unfortunately part and parcel of modern gaming. Sometimes they're small and easily fixed, and sometimes they're big and game-breaking, although occasionally they're incredibly funny, as was the case with a recent example in The Outer Worlds.

Obsidian's QA Lead Taylor Swope recently shared a Twitter thread detailing the contents of patch 1.2, fixing an issue that caused the game to think your companions are dead, marking some quests as failed despite said companions being safe and sound by your side.

This wasn't the funny part though, as another issue was fixed that caused companions to be stuck infinitely climbing. The video Swope shared to illustrate this was particularly funny, as it was triggered when players entered a conversation before your buddy had finished climbing a ladder, causing the NPC to keep going up and up forever.

As much as it's worth a chuckle, we're pleased it's fixed, and looking further ahead, The Outer Worlds' story is getting expanded through DLC next year, so we can expect even more of the RPG as time goes by, hopefully without anyone climbing into space.

Have you encountered that bug?
