Blue Byte and Ubisoft are celebrating 20 years of The Settlers. The first game in the series launched in 1993 for Amiga-PC (followed shortly by a port to MS-DOS). Seven main games have been complemented by a series of spin-offs, with combined sales of 9 million.
The latest iteration of the series, The Settlers Online, is running a series of events to mark the event. The browser-based game will feature adventures based on Settlers II (the Retro Click Adventures and Semi-retro Military Adventures, the latter of which is for level 26+ players only). There'll also be a new resource, balloons, and when a server has collected enough there'll be rewards for those involved. Head this way for more details or to play the game.
